The company Zieher was founded in by Christa and Manfred Zieher in 1986.
After having represented the companies WMF, Rosenthal & Thomas Porzellan in the hotel- and restaurant-sector of northeast Bavaria for over ten years, Manfred Zieher had the idea to establish an ancillary company for this target market.
The products were purchased in the foreign countries of Europe, the Middle East and Asia and then distributed nationwide to the above mentioned target groups through the specialized trade.
Zieher imported similar commodities for gastronomy and with that the company and its product-range was becoming bigger.
Since 2005, Zieher has been developed by ambitious amateur chefs as the trademark for the sophisticated restaurant-sector and constantly expanded.
Considerate of sustainability, a separate division for design and product development was built up.
Zieher products which are developed by internal and external designers are appreciated worldwide.
Our production happens exclusively for the firm at collaborating companies in Europe, in the Middle East and Asia, as usual for the most brands in this branch. (Note: WMF, Cilio, Küchenprofi, or for example in other branches like Escada, Adidas, Puma, Nike a.s.o.).
Meanwhile, Zieher conceive of themselves as a design manufacturer for the sophisticated tabletop- and buffet-sector.
Zieher is a representative for name-brand and self-designed products in five stars hotels and top restaurants.

“We ourselves were surprised by the rapid acceptance of our products in this target group. We affiliate this to the development of the products in cooperation with top-operators, for example starred chefs and experienced designers.
This enables us to escape comparability with emotional products and achieve higher market prices. This financial reflux gives us space to use materials of higher quality and employ optimal producers.
Example: Products made of different materials like glass, stainless steel, slate, porcelain etc. and combinations of different materials, e.g. glass or porcelain with high-quality plastics or silicone.
Thereof high-quality modern tableware and buffet-systems were made. Meanwhile, the company Zieher perceive themselves as the market leader in this target group, above all concerning individual buffets for the executive floor, for suite-areas or in lounges. This applies for both the quality and the quantity of the products.
“From one source” is definitely not our motto!
Quite the contrary: Additional products and systems which are considered as being emotional and innovative are our guidelines. Sophisticated and high-grade problem solutions joined with fine design for the niche, not for the masses, are our goal.
Since regional niches in the five star hotel sector, for example within Germany, are not sufficiently rentable we entered the world market. Steady success since 2007 proves that we were headed in the right direction.
Our specialization is not determinable according to certain products. It is much more detectable when looking at our cooperation with top decision-makers when creating niche products and making them ready for the market. In the past this involved, among other things, our buffet-systems.
We are eager to accept the demands the market puts on us in future years. If we also succeed in the future to recognize trends on time, or even better to set trends ourselves, we are on the right track. Our exceptional strength lies in the fast and innovative realization of new ideas and products with an own appealing and emotional design.”
Meanwhile, Zieher supplies over 60 countries. Hereby the target group is the top-class gastronomy and the five star hotel-sector. The distribution is usually made via specialist retailers; in some countries also via exclusive partners, for example via Dudson in Canada and the United States of America.
The annual catalogue which is available in German and English is an essential support when it comes to trade partners. It is published once a year on the 1st of March. Additionally, two to three innovations are presented in special catalogues during the year.

A showroom which is situated directly in Himmelkron is impressive because of its extraordinary, but also modern design and constitutes a suitable setting for our products. The sales area has got more than 300 sq.m.
