Gerd Preiss

Born in 1956, as a native of Bayreuth, home of the annual Richard Wagner Festival, Preiß grew up and was trained in the craft of a photographer after completing secondary education. His training led to the development of a keen and lasting interest in food, glass and porcelain photography, which he discovered as early as the 1970s.

After successfully completing a master class in Würzburg in 1980, Preiß opened his own photo studio in Bayreuth.

Specialising himself in photography for advertisements soon demanded an extension of the studio, which eventually led to a change of location in 1990 when he moved "to the countryside".
Ever since Gerd Preiß has lived and worked together with his family in the former "village pub", whose "ballroom" today offers a generously-sized workspace.

His regular clientèle comprises German, Swiss, and Austrian companies, most of them producers and wholesale organisations from the food, gastronomy, hotel and technical supplies sectors.
