Cooperations
Zieher cooperates with the University of Applied Science and Design of Coburg:Together with the University of Applied Science of Coburg Zieher has started a design competition among the students of integrated product design, which takes places under the auspices of Prof. Peter Raab during the winter term 2006/07.
Following the motto "Tableware in Motion" two of previously three tasks were selected and assigned to the students. The first one consists in designing a buffet tray whose function, usability, and design meet the requirements of self-service at a miniature buffet, and Zieher’s "Flying Buffet" respectively. The second task consists in designing party plates, items for cocktail receptions, and more…
All students have participated in trial buffets, made experiments concerning the procedure, at buffets as well as at receptions, and have thus been able to immerse themselves deeply in the tasks assigned to them, especially where ergonomics are concerned.
The competition ended on 16. February 2007 with the presentation of the product prototypes by the participants. Click here for more information...
Product Designers:
We are open-minded towards all new developments in the gastronomic sector, especially where porcelain design is concerned. In what concerns production engineering we are able to produce sophisticated shapes and forms in premium quality.
Apart from having our own design department headed by Oliver Zieher, we have entered the following design partnerships: the porcelain designer and manufactory owner Barbara Flügel developed the bone china series "Confinesse" in cooperation with Ronny Pietzner; the series "J-Chef" was developed by a Japanese design team exclusively for Zieher.
We are looking forward to entering into contact with more designers from our business sector.
The major part of Zieher’s own product designs come from our design department, and have been created by Oliver Zieher, such as for example the "Kibu Interior" series in massive wood, a cruet stand in solid steel, and various buffet systems, among them "Lightning Buffet", the porcelain series "Twist" , the tripartite tray "Kreativ", as well as several single porcelain items. All of our developments are copyrighted. In our picture gallery you will gain an impression of our products.
More innovations have been planned for 2007: be curious!
FOOD Industry:
We are looking for partners from the food industry, who, together with excellent chefs, can help us develop innovations in gastronomy. Initially, this may take place on the basis of an exchange of ideas only; however, we are strategically interested in establishing an intense cooperation.
Top Chefs / Pâtissiers:
Only the professionals (Chefs and Patissiers), whose daily work takes place in the front ranks of their profession, can tell us – using their own imagination and energy – what the market demands. We are looking forward to making contact with, receiving suggestions from, and entering into an exchange of ideas with this kind of professionals.
